Advances in the science and treatment of respiratory diseases: Respiratory Conference 2023

What to know about Respiratory Disease?
Respiratory diseases, or lung diseases, are pathological conditions affecting the organs and tissues that make gas exchange difficult in air-breathing animals. They include conditions of the respiratory tract including the trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli, pleurae, pleural cavity, the nerves, and muscles of respiration. Respiratory diseases range from mild and self-limiting, such as the common cold, influenza, and pharyngitis to life-threatening diseases such as bacterial pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, tuberculosis, acute asthma, lung cancer, and severe acute respiratory syndromes, such as COVID-19. Respiratory diseases can be classified in many different ways, including by the organ or tissue involved, by the type and pattern of associated signs and symptoms, or by the cause of the disease. The study of respiratory disease is known as pulmonology. A physician who specializes in respiratory disease is known as a pulmonologist, a chest medicine specialist, a respiratory medicine specialist, a respirologist, or a thoracic medicine specialist.
The fast fact of Respiratory Disease
- The lungs are the only organs that can float on water
- Your lungs are not sterile or germ-free, even in health
- The common cold can be caused by hundreds of different viruses
- Your nose is a filter, heater, and a humidifier
- Coughing, sneezing, and yawning are natural mechanisms
- Some air never leaves your lungs
- It is possible to live with just one lung
- When something is not right, a switch occurs at the nostrils to exchange their work
- Children who breathe directly from the mouth will likely develop a lisp while talking
- You lose a lot of water just by breathing
Importance of Respiratory disease
Every cell in your body needs oxygen to live. The air we breathe contains oxygen and other gases. The respiratory system's main job is to move fresh air into your body while removing waste gases. Once in the lungs, oxygen is moved into the bloodstream and carried through your body. At each cell in your body, oxygen is exchanged for a waste gas called carbon dioxide. Your bloodstream then carries this waste gas back to the lungs where it is removed from the bloodstream and then exhaled. Your lungs and the respiratory system automatically perform this vital process, called gas exchange. In addition to gas exchange, your respiratory system performs other roles important to breathing. These include:
- Bringing air to the proper body temperature and moisturizing it to the right humidity level.
- Protecting your body from harmful substances. This is done by coughing, sneezing, filtering, or swallowing them.
- Supporting your sense of smell.
About Respiratory Conference 2023:
The respiratory system is the defining element for all active living beings who breathe air. Recently the covid-19 pandemic has consumed the global human population through respiratory disease, leaving a trail of loss and devastation. Respiratory Conference 2023 invites you to join the “4th International Conference on Respiratory Disease and Care” in Zurich, Switzerland. This Respiratory Conference comes at a very critical time to review what we have learned thus far and what we can propose going forward to protect and prevent situations like SARS-CoV-2 and many others. With this aim, this Respiratory Conference will attract all levels of pulmonologists, researchers, and industry personnel to a common platform for crucial collaborations to secure effective healthcare services for the future. The goal of Longdom Conferences is to bring together scientists at every level from diverse disciplines to understand and discuss throughout the programmed sessions and comfortable gatherings. All these opportunities will support the professional growth of younger scientists that will promote future collaborations and enhance participation and contribution to their exciting research work.
